The Consultation and Referral Service (CARES) of the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center is a service offered to those concerned about their mental health or that of family or friends. Calls are welcome from professionals seeking consultation and/or assistance in making a referral. Treatment and services are available for children, adolescents, and adults.

Mental Health Services

Available mental health services include consultation, assessment, treatment, and referral. Treatment services range from medication management to intensive dynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

Services are provided by members of the Center who are counselors, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists with additional training in psychoanalytic therapy. All services are held in private offices located throughout the greater Cleveland area. Fees and other arrangements are made directly with the therapist providing the service.

Find A Therapist (coming soon) or call CARES at (216) 229-5959 ext. 1 to speak to or leave a confidential voice message for the psychoanalyst on call.

A message left by a caller on the private voicemail line will be answered promptly by a CPC mental health professional who can assist the caller in determining the service needed. If indicated, a referral will be made to a person known to possess the training and skills necessary to provide the needed service. Should a preferred language be needed, please request this as some of the Center’s members are fluent in languages other including Spanish, Hebrew, German, Russian, Polish, and French. If the caller’s question cannot be addressed by a member of the Center, a referral will be made to a place where the needed service can be obtained.

CARES does not provide a 24-hour emergency call. In case of a psychiatric emergency, you should go to your nearest emergency room.
