Become a Psychoanalyst
Our Psychoanalyst Training Program (PTP) is for those who want to develop a richer understanding of modern psychoanalytic perspectives and apply it to their own work and personal lives. In four years of twice weekly seminars (60 per program year), a personal training psychoanalysis, in on-going case conferences, and in clinical supervision of three psychoanalysts, our community of students and faculty come together to explore aspects and applications of the psychoanalytic field. Training initially is part-time, and over time becomes fully integrated into one’s career.
The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center also offers for those who do not seek to practice clinically the option of taking an Academic Associate certificate. This is designed for those who are academicians who wish to enrich their understanding of human condition and to use intensive psychoanalytic study to interpret their own research. They are not interested in being therapists but rather invested in discovering the insight and freedom produced by the contributions to their professional lives offered by psychoanalytic understanding and the change in their personal identity derived from a training psychoanalysis. The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center invites those who are interested in becoming a psychoanalyst and or in learning more about other applications of psychoanalytic ideas, to contact Center’s Psychoanalysts Training Program (PTP).
