At the end of this workshop, the participants should be able to:
1. Recognize and manage ethical and clinical issues potentially raised if illness, aging, or disability intrudes upon the capability and conditions for practice.
2. Recognize and manage the clinical and ethical obligations entailed when one retires or closes a practice.
3. Be mindful and prepared to cope with one’s intrapsychic responses to these events.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center.
