7:30 p.m. Analytic Flick – If Beale Street Could Talk

Sunday, January 20, 2019 7:30 p.m.—9:00 p.m. Center Library, “If Beale Street Could Talk?”, directed by Barry Jenkins.

Plot: In early 1970s Harlem, daughter and wife-to-be Tish vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust that have connected her and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny. Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together, but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit.

Discussion will be led by Joanne Naegele, M.A., LPCC-S. Please check movie listings for locations film is being shown. After this Sunday discussion the group will gather on the FOURTH Sunday evening of the months to come to discuss the film. Please check dates on our website as some months, due to conflicts, the discussion date changes.

Discussion will be held at the Center’s offices in the Heights Medical Building at 2460 Fairmount Boulevard, Suite 312, Cleveland Heights (Cedar-Fairmount). There will be someone at the building door between 7:15—7:45 p.m.
