A membership to The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center serves you in more ways than one: gain anytime access to the Center’s robust library, reduced fees for continuing education programs, as well as the ability to serve on the Center’s committees.

Not only will your membership give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people, but also allows you a voice within the Psychoanalytic field.


Application Process

If you have never been a member of CPC or have not been a member in the past three years, please submit a “New Member” application detailing your professional and educational background. All applications will be reviewed by our Governance Committee* and you will be notified within 10 days.

Faculty Status

  • (1) A candidate or graduate of an institute affiliated with or accredited by one of the following: the American Psychoanalytic Association, the International Psychoanalytical Association, or the Hanna Perkins Center. (2) A child analyst who is a member of the Association for Child Psychoanalysis. (Or 3) A psychoanalyst whose training is determined to be the equivalent of that received by analysts eligible for membership identified in Section 2.02(A) or 2.02(B) of the code of regulations.

  • Open to any licensed mental health professional who does not meet the qualifications set forth for Psychoanalytic Members is eligible to apply to become a Mental Health Professional member.

    Applicants for Mental Health Professional Membership shall meet the Center’s requirements as to character, professional, and ethical standards as determined by the Governance Committee. Upon application for membership, applicants must respond to inquiries by the Governance Committee regarding their character, professional and ethical standards, ethics investigations, malpractice actions, and personal capacity to carry out patient care. Consideration of an applicant’s membership shall not be influenced by an applicant’s race, religion, age, gender, marital status, disability, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

*Applicants for any of The Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center’s memberships shall meet the Center’s requirements as to character, professional, and ethical standards as determined by the Governance Committee.
